The card payment was interrupted

Here you learn what to do when the card payment does not go through.

Watch how it is done37 sec.
The video has no sound and shows the till in Danish, with each step written on the screen in Danish. The same steps are below in English, and you can pause the video along the way.

The sale is not paid until the till shows the receipt.

Step by step

Tick a step when it is done

Button names are written as they appear on a till set to Danish. The brackets give the name on a till set to English, the first time a button is mentioned. Change the till's language

  1. Add the items to the order, and tap BETAL (PAY).
  2. Tap Kort (Card). The amount is sent to the card terminal.
  3. If the customer cannot pay, or the terminal does not respond, tap Afbryd betaling (Abort payment).
  4. The payment window opens again. The sale is not paid yet.
  5. Choose another payment, e.g. Kontant (Cash), and tap Lige penge (Exact amount).
  6. Choose whether the customer should have a receipt.
  7. Good to know

    • Try again: If the customer wants to try again, tap Kort once more.
    • Card declined: If it says Betaling afvist (Payment declined), ask the customer to use another card.
    • In the middle of a part payment: If a part has already been paid, the payment window opens with the remaining amount. Choose another payment for the rest.
    • The terminal does not respond: Check that the terminal is switched on and connected. See also the guide The till is slow.

Finishing up

The sale is paid, and the customer has their receipt.
